Serang, Banten, Indonesia / La Union, Philippines – June 20, 2025 – The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA) in Indonesia and the College of Agriculture of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) in the Philippines proudly announce the successful conclusion of their collaborative online guest lecture series, held from June 16 to June 20, 2025. This week-long program, titled “From Farm to Fork: Building Resilient and Equitable Sustainable Food Supply Chains,” brought together experts and enthusiasts from both institutions to discuss critical aspects of modern agriculture and food security. The event saw significant participation, including the esteemed presence of the Rector of UNTIRTA and the Deans from both the Faculty of Agriculture of UNTIRTA and the College of Agriculture of DMMMSU.
The lecture series featured a diverse range of topics, with speakers from both universities sharing their expertise on subjects such as sustainable agriculture practices, crop and animal science, agribusiness management, and food technology. Participants engaged in insightful discussions, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and perspectives crucial for addressing contemporary challenges in the agricultural sector. This joint initiative underscores the commitment of both UNTIRTA and DMMMSU to advancing agricultural education, research, and community engagement through international collaboration.
Dr. Jarata, Director of the Office of International Affairs of DMMMSU, expressed his profound appreciation for the successful collaboration. “We are incredibly pleased with the outcome of this guest lecture series and are grateful for the strong partnership with UNTIRTA,” stated Dr. Jarata. He discussed about another potential program to be conducted, which is the visiting lecture for two weeks in La Union, Philippines. The International Partnerships Coordinator of UNTIRTA, Syafiq, highly appreciate the collaboration and seek for further joint research, specifically on the endemic and endangered species of Banten’s plants and animals.
